Lerone Osbourne-Wells, 10, was struck as he crossed the road on his segway scooter near to his home in Wythenshawe on Easter Sunday.

He had been out playing with his friends at a quiet cul de sac when he was involved in the collision on Moorcroft Road. The youngster was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital with a serious leg injury.

He has already had to undergo two operations to save his leg, and is not expected to be discharged from hospital for six months.
