Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were scrambled to Altrincham on Sunday afternoon following a horror crash which saw a baby taken to hospital.

The crash, on Shaftesbury Avenue in Timperley, thankfully resulted in no serious injuries, but closed the road off from around 12.10pm this afternoon, as emergency services rushed to the scene and an air ambulance landed nearby.

Passers-by watched on in horror as police officers, paramedics, and firefighters worked to treat the drivers and passengers of two cars that had been involved in a head on collision, causing serious damage to the vehicles.

One of the passengers, a young baby, was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital as a precaution, but miraculously, the occupants of both vehicles were able to walk away with no serious injuries, according to police.
