Lanarkshire church marks start of extension project

Congregation members at a Lanarkshire church are transforming their place of worship and the neighbouring area with a new extension to their premises.

Work is now under way on the expanded building at Hope Church in Coatbridge, which will not only give more space for those attending services but will also create facilities such as a cafe space and community-use halls.

It is being constructed on adjacent waste land which has lain empty for some time, and is set to improve the current “unsightly” ground with the creation of the valuable new community hub.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
