Martin Scorsese
Martin Charles Scorsese Italian (born November 17, 1942) is an American filmmaker and actor, whose career spans more than 50 years. Part of the New Hollywood wave of filmmaking, he is widely regarded as one of the most significant and influential filmmakers in cinematic history. Scorsese's body of work explores such themes as Italian-American identity, Catholic concepts of guilt and redemption? faith, machismo, modern crime, and gang conflict. Many of his films are also known for their depiction of violence and liberal use of profanity. In 1990, he founded The Film Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to film preservation, and in 2007 he founded the World Cinema Foundation. He is a recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award for his contributions to the cinema, and has won an Academy Award, a Palme d'Or, Cannes Film Festival Best Director Award, Silver Lion, Grammy Award, Emmys, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and Directors Guild of America Awards.

Ken Jeong & Joel McHale Take Jab At Jo Koy’s Golden Globes Monologue At The Emmys

Former Community stars Ken Jeong and Joel McHale reunited Monday night at the 75th Emmy Awards to present the Outstanding Reality Competition award, and in the process took a not-so-subtle jab at Jo Koy’s not-well-received monologue at the recent Golden Globes. “Reality TV competitions are better than they’ve ever been.

In fact, reality is the most noble of callings, even more than medicine and I should know,” began Jeong, a practicing doctor prior to his television career. “You were thrown out of medicine,” McHale interrupted. “OK, he killed a guy.” “You can’t say that!” Jeong quipped back. “The instruments that almost killed that dude were the ones the nurses left in.

The ones that saved his life, I left in. Besides, I only had the gig for 10 days at that point so give me a break.” The jab was meant for Koy, who bombed during his Globes opening monologue and blamed his writers, saying “I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.” He also defended his jokes that fell flat, saying, “I got the gig 10 days ago.” The duo then moved on to presenting the Emmy to RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Even Koy’s ex, Chelsea Handler, couldn’t miss taking a ding at Koy when she hosted the Critics Choice Awards Sunday. “Unfortunately, Martin Scorsese isn’t here tonight, but that’s not going to stop me from letting everyone in this room know that I would toss him around like a little Italian meatball,” she joked, then nailed the punchline: “Thank you for laughing at that.
