Joel Dommett appeared to make a blunder as he hosted the 2022 National Television Awards on 14 October. The comedian, 37, mistakenly introduced King Charles III by his former Royal title, the Prince of Wales, and many viewers were quick to pick up on Joel's faux pas. "As if he just introduced him as Prince of Wales....
he's the King of England #NTAs," one person wrote on social media, as another added: "Joel just introduced King Charles as the Prince Of Wales? #NTA #Emmerdale." A third viewer said: “Joel shouldn’t you of said King Charles?
Not Prince of Wales. #NTAs.” Joel introduced Charles as he had recorded a special video message to celebrate 50 years of ITV soap Emmerdale.
The King made a surprise appearance on Thursday's NTAs where he shared his unexpected love of the hit soap, and appeared in a pre-recorded video taken earlier this year.
