Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.

Joe Exotic Documentary for BBC in the Works From Louis Theroux

The Tiger King is getting the Louis Theroux documentary treatment. Joseph Maldonado-Passage, better known as Joe Exotic, will be the subject of a new feature- length film from the BBC's famed doc maker, who returns to America for the first time since 2019.

With the working title Louis Theroux: The Cult of Joe Exotic, the feature was commissioned by BBC Two and comes10 years after Theroux first met Exotic whilst making his documentary America’s Most Dangerous Pets.

Heading back toOklahoma, Theroux will explore what has happened since, with the big cat man now residing in a federal prison, having been found guilty of a murder-for-hire plot and multiple animal cruelty charges.
