Jim Goodwin has let rip at the SPFL for refusing to postpone St Mirren’s virus-hit defeat to Hibs.He revealed the Buddies were left with just seven hours to draft in a goalie as two first-team keepers tested positive for Covid-19 and a third was forced to isolate on Friday night.

It left Goodwin scrambling to draft in Bobby Zlamal on loan from Hearts before naming 40-year-old coach Jamie Langfield as a sub.

The St Mirren boss insists the Premiership would’ve been branded a joke if he’d been forced to throw an outfield player between the sticks.

Goodwin said: “I am totally flabbergasted at the decision. It was a ridiculous situation on Friday.“None of us expected to be forced to play.
