Inside Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden's surprise wedding as they sadly confirm split
ok.co.ukCharley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden met on Emmerdale in 2007 and 11 years later the pair tied the knot in front of 100 guests at Ripley Castle near Harrogate.
The couple told friends they would be celebrating the Debbie Dingle star's 30th birthday but turned the event into their wedding.
Surprised guests included Jamie Lomas, who had the honour of giving Charley away, and best friend Lucy Pargeter, who is well-known for playing Chas Dingle.The couple chose not to have a traditional wedding ditching a formal sit down meal and cutting speeches down.
Charley explained to OK! at the time: "This way we got to do it totally the way we wanted – it wasn’t traditional, we didn’t have a sit-down meal, and there weren’t loads of speeches." Recalling the moment their friends and family found out about the wedding, Charley said: "That moment when we announced what we were doing and seeing everybody’s reaction is the best moment of my life. "Someone once told me their friend had a surprise wedding and it stuck in my mind." Matthew added: "We couldn’t have had a better response.
