The chain is facing a staff shortage just after freedom day arrived. Iceland said that after keeping all of its stores open during lockdown, it has now had to shut some because 1,000 staff have been pinged.
Iceland managing director Richard Walker said around 4 per cent of its workforce were currently absent because of Covid.
