'I lost everything today...' the human cost of massive blaze at self-storage warehouse 'being treated as deliberate'

Local residents and businesses have seen their livelihoods ruined after a devastating blaze at a self-storage warehouse in Stockport.

The fire, which is being treated as 'deliberate,' broke out at the Armadillo Self Storage Unit on Earl Road in Cheadle at around 1 am in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

A major incident was declared after 130 firefighters were drafted in to tackle the flames, which sent plumes of smoke billowing over Cheadle and Handforth. Artisan spirit brand ambassadors Dipple Tipple and Co said they had lost everything but their van, laptop and some tablecloths in the blaze.

The business' office was located inside the building, and they had purchased two storage units at the facility. In a post on the company's Facebook page, they wrote: "We Tipplers are devastated that our two storage units and office are located here. "We have lost all but our van, laptop, some square readers and tablecloths.
