Hugh Jackman is looking back at his time as Wolverine! During an interview on The Tonight Show, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for April Fool’s Day, the actor revealed that he used his role as the X-Men superhero to avoid deportation. He was advised by someone working on the movie to lie about audition for the role in order to get through customs, despite the fact that he’d already scored the part.
He recalled meeting with the “nerdy” customs agent and said he found himself unable to lie after the agent started asking questions. “I’m like, sweat just pouring down, and I literally then said, ‘No, no, it’s not audition.
I’ve got the part.’ I just broke. It was pathetic,” the actor said. He ended up waiting in a room at the airport and explained that he was starring in a live-action version of the X-Men series.
