Housing association bids farewell to boss after 14 years spent championing tenants' rights

Linstone Housing Association has said farewell to its long-serving chief executive who has retired after devoting her working life to championing tenants’ rights.Adele Fraser bowed out at the association’s AGM on Wednesday night in Johnstone Town Hall after leading the organisation for 14 years.It caps a remarkable career spanning almost four decades of service to social housing and delivering affordable housing.Reflecting on her long service, Adele paid tribute to those she has worked with by saying her work at Linstone “would not have been possible without the diligence and commitment of the staff and those who had served on Linstone’s board.” Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

But it won’t be a total break from housing for Adel - who is widely respected throughout Scottish housing - as she has a passion for coaching and mentoring and will continue to offer others the benefit of her expertise.Having qualified with a degree in English and French, Adele worked in Marseille in the south of France as an English teacher at two secondary schools.Returning to Scotland, she started her housing career as a graduate trainee with Scottish Special Housing Association – often referred to as the SSHA – which is still fondly remembered by many older tenants.

It was later renamed Scottish Homes.Adele then worked for Falkirk Council as an area housing manager in several local offices and as housing policy manager.Before joining Linstone, Adele worked as director for Tollcross
