Holly Willoughby shares fond memory of Dame Vera Lynn following her death
evoke.ieHolly revealed that she and Vera hasn’t lived far from one another and their meeting had been by pure chance.She said: ‘When I was a really little girl we grew up not far from Ditchling [East Sussex] actually, where she lived, and there was a farm where you used to get your turkeys for Christmas.‘I remember being with my mum, and I was only tiny, and my mum saying to me, “That lady there is Dame Vera Lynn”‘And I remember then just sort of looking at this lady and I was so young I couldn’t put it in context but just thinking “Oh my gosh.”‘And I always think now, I was so pleased that at least I got to catch a glimpse of this incredible woman.’Holly wasn’t the only one sharing her memories of the icon as Phillip also remembered her as always.
