A man has been arrested and charged after posts emerged on social media suggesting a Hogmanay street party was planned for outside Nicola Sturgeon's house.The event was called 'NYE street party at sturgeon's house'.

Created as a Facebook event, the page had an image attached of the First Minister enjoying a ride on a play park swing. The event page appears to have now been removed.Police on Thursday confirmed that a 33-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with communications offences.He was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.The 'event' was publicised after Sturgeon introduced new restrictions to pubs, large gatherings and football that will come into force after Christmas and affect Hogmanay
