HIV charity backs mobile drug consumption units in bid to slash death rates

A charity has backed plans for mobile drug consumption rooms after the UK Government rejected a proposal by Glasgow council.

HIV Scotland Chief Executive Nathan Sparling said he would support the citizen-led facilities if politicians continued to clash on safe injection rooms .

Scotland’s high rate of drug deaths has prompted Ministers to move away from tough rhetoric on substance abuse and instead put forward public health solutions.
