Gilbert Gottfried Laid to Rest, Funeral Guests Included Many Celebs

Gilbert died earlier this week at the age of 67 from “Recurrent Ventricular Tachycardia due to Myotonic Dystrophy type II.” Many celebrities were in attendance at the funeral. Click inside to check out the guest list… People reports that celebs who were there included “Jeff Ross, Colin Quinn, Susie Essman, Mario Cantone, Dave Attell, and Paul Shaffer, as well as Bob Saget‘s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, Aubrey, Jennifer, and Lara.” The outlet reports that Whoopi Goldberg was unable to attend, but set a gift in Gilbert‘s honor. Sarah Silverman will be in attendance at the shiva call. Jeff, who delivered the eulogy, told People, “The shiva tonight will be a star-studded event and the funeral was just absolutely perfect. Gilbert would have loved it.
I saw so many great comics there paying their respects. It was cathartic but there was also a sense of relief. As I said at the funeral, Gilbert had been sick, he was tired, and he had perfect timing.
