They helped shape the childhoods of some of Greater Manchester's biggest stars. But while the memories these schools provided will last a lifetime, the buildings themselves are almost all long gone.
From De La Salle in Salford, former stomping ground of Tony Wilson, to Ducie Technical in Greenheys, where Inspector Morse star John Thaw, studied, these schools have all been demolished, closed or renamed.
