Glasgow council chiefs have suspended parking charges due to the Coronavirus crisis. Bosses at Scotland's largest city have announced the move following similar actions by other Scots councils.Councillor Alan Casey confirmed the move, saying on-street parking bays will help support key workers who need their cars to travel during the outbreak.
Announcing the temporary scrapping of the fees on Twitter last night, he said: "Glasgow City Council Parking Charges Suspended. "The current government advice is to avoid using public transport and there's a reduced service from Monday 23 March, we have suspended charging for on-street parking bays to help support key workers using their cars."
