Gardener warned by police over 'obscene' hedge after neighbour complaint

A gardener who trimmed a 10ft hedge to depict a hand flipping the middle finger has been warned he faces police action if he doesn't chop it down.

Richard Jenkins, 63, from Warton, Warwickshire, has displayed the rude topiary outside his home for the last 18 years. But the council has threatened to take legal action if he doesn't trim the bush after a neighbour branded it "obscene". Grandad-of-four Richard said the hedge was initially a joke for drinkers who teased him while cutting it at the pub opposite his home.
