A former stray dog called Penny, who was found wandering the streets alone just as lockdown hit in 2020, is still searching to find her forever home.

The team at Dogs Trust Manchester are hoping that the The Saluki Cross will find her 'perfect match' this Valentine's Day. Dawn Bishop, Manager at the Denton -based rehoming centre, said: “Penny is full of character and makes us laugh every day, but she gets anxious meeting new people, so sadly she hasn’t found her special someone yet. "She particularly enjoys a paddle and splash about in muddy puddles and she loves people-watching.

At home she enjoys doing reward-based training and knows many tricks including sit, lie down and paw and will go to her bed when asked. “When she isn’t having fun learning new things, she will happily settle with some foodie treats, her particular favourites being raw tripe and yoghurt.” Penny is looking to find ever-lasting love in an adult-only home with few visitors and no visiting children, the Dogs Trust say.

She would like to be the only pet, but she enjoys meeting up with doggy friends when she is out and about. She prefers to be walked in quieter areas away from too much hustle and bustle and she would love a secure garden to relax and play in.
