Fears raised after just one Aberdeen bar linked to Covid-19 cluster is asked for customer contact list

Aberdeen Covid-19 cluster has been asked for a customer list. More than 20 bars and restaurants were identified as having been visited by customers who later tested positive for the bug.

The outbreak, which is thought to have begun at city’s the Hawthorn Bar, has seen a total of 198 cases connected to the cluster.

Aberdeen has had its lockdown extended by a further seven days - with all sit-in hospitality venues closed - as health officials battle to get the infection rate under control.But an investigation by the Press & Journal found that Test and Protect teams had only requested a customer list from the Hawthorn Bar.Scottish Conservative health spokesperson, Donald Cameron MSP, said: “It’s alarming that contact tracing teams are working.
