Experts warn not to draw conclusions on UK virus death rate as numbers fall

Medical experts have warned that it is too early to draw conclusions from official death rates in the UK, suggesting that it may take up to a month for social distancing restrictions to have any visible effects.

The latest figure released by the Department of Health in England (DHSC) revealed that, as of 5pm on Saturday, the number of hospital deaths related to the disease in the UK was up by 621 from the day before.
