As viewers of the ITV soap know, Charity has been secretly struggling for months. She has been struggling with the fact she has killed somebody after saving her own life and her husband Mackzie's during a confrontation with villain Damon 'Harry' Harris over Christmas.
She had been unable to sleep, double checking her home is always locked and jumping at loud noises ever since she shot the villain in self-defence.
Then in scenes aired last month, as she fell asleep on the sofa, she suffered another of her night terrors. After falling to sleep on the sofa after she was triggered by more noisy goings-on in the pub, Charity started to envision Harry and so, when Mack tried to wake her up, she thought he was the dead villain and after keeping a knife with her, stabbed her partner.
