Ellen DeGeneres' Staff Is 'Furious' Over How the Show's Shutdown Was Handled

The core stage crew at The Ellen DeGeneres Show is “furious” with how the show’s shutdown during the coronavirus pandemic has been handled, according to Variety.

Insiders says that the crew, which consists of more than 30 employees, “received no written communication about the status of their working hours, pay, or inquiries about their mental and physical health from producers for over a month.” The staff members were even more angry when they found out that an outside, non-union company was hired to help film remote episodes from Ellen‘s home.

Even though Ellen‘s show is still airing new episodes, the crew has now been told to get ready for a 60% reduction in pay.
