EastEnders fans have heaped praise on the BBC One soap for the impressive stunt pulled by the cast at the National Television Awards on Tuesday, 5 September.

The majority of the EastEnders cast attended the annual awards bash at London's O2 Arena, with the soap taking home the award for Serial Drama, while stars Danielle Harold and Bobby Brazier also both walked away with gongs.

However it wasn't just the soap's wins that fans were impressed by, as many were interested in the way the cast promoted the upcoming 'whodunnit?' Christmas storyline on the red carpet.

The storyline, which will take centre stage during the festive period, focuses on 'The Six' - Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).

Bobby Brazier had his dad Jeff in tears as he accepted the award for Rising Star at the National Television Awards. The 20 year old actor, who plays Freddie Slater in BBC One soap EastEnders, was also emotional when he picked up the gong at the ceremony held at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday, 5 September. Bobby had been sat in the celebrity audience with his dad, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, 44, and his EastEnders co-star Molly Rainford, prior to collecting the prized trophy at the awards show hosted by comedian Joel Dommett.
