East Kilbride woman devastated vandals destroy boyfriend's memorial tree

East Kilbride woman has told of her heartache after she discovered her partner’s memorial tree had been “ripped up by scumbags”.

Karen D’arcy planted the shrub in Calderglen Park in memory of her late boyfriend, Allan Wood.Allan sadly lost his life in November last year, with his poste mortem pointing to pneumonia – but Karen believes her love died of coronavirus.In a bid to remember Allan, Karen, 36, planted a tree in July, the week of the couple’s anniversary.
