Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced a change in the way it communicates with all customers, not just those receiving benefits.
The DWP said that system-generated customer notifications will be sent in white rather than typical manila (brown) envelopes.

It continued: “The new system requires a legible barcode to be printed onto the envelope. Testing has shown printing onto our manila envelopes regularly fails. The DWP also said that the white envelopes will be marked 'important post-please open', but will be the same size and window-style as the manila ones.
