DOCTOR Who has said goodbye to Jodie Whittaker as show bosses look set to replace with another woman in the lead role. Jodie made history as the first female Doctor and started to say goodbye to the role in a special episode that aired on New Year's Day.

She had played the Doctor since 2017, taking over from legendary Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, who starred in the final three series written and overseen by Steven Moffat.

But the New Year’s Day special isn’t the end for her. Instead, the Doctor becomes stuck in a “time loop” — repeatedly dying and coming back to life.
