DMX’s ex-wife Tashera Simmons has said the late rapper used his last words to help her understand that he wasn’t afraid to die. The artist, real name Earl Simmons, died on 9 April, having spent several days on life support at a New York hospital following a catastrophic cardiac arrest.

DMX’s family is still reeling over his sudden death, but the rapper’s final words gave his ex-wife a bit of strength to get through such a devastating period.

DMX’s ex-wife revealed that the rapper was not afraid of dying and used his last words to try to make her understand that.  The 50-year-old rap legend was admitted to the hospital in April after suffering a heart attack. He ultimately died one week later on April 9 at White Plains Hospital in New York.
