When the little girl’s father does arrive he hands her a Mickey Mouse toy, which she treasures before years later passing it on to her young granddaughter.Now living outside the Philippines the pair do their best to keep the old traditions alive.However, Lola (the Filipino word for ‘grandmother’) is heartbroken when her granddaughter is too busy to take part in their annual ritual of sewing a parol together.Lola retires upstairs alone after dropping a broken Mickey to the floor.But, and this is where you will need to have a tissue handy to wipe away the tears, when she awakes the next morning her house has been transformed.Her granddaughter has filled the house with homemade parols.Her granddaughter then hands her carefully wrapped Mickey.
