Derek McInnes as the best manager he’s ever worked with, alongside Croatian legend Niko Kovac. The defender won promotion to the promised land of the English Premier League with Fulham on Tuesday, beating Brentford 2-1 at Wembley in the Championship play-off final, otherwise known as the “richest game in football.” The defender was due to spend the 2013-14 season on loan at Aberdeen from Reading, but was recalled in the December after an injury crisis struck at the Madjeski and he was required back down south.
McInnes remained hopeful of bringing him back if possible and, while he was unable to do so, Hector traveled north to support the Dons in their 2014 League Cup final victory over Inverness.
