A dad and talented rugby player was found dead in his flat after taking a 'cocktail of drugs', an inquest heard. David René Simmons, who played for Porthmadog Rugby Club, passed away in Tremadog, Gwynedd on Easter Sunday, April 4 last year.
The 36-year-old was discovered by friend, Paul Jones, who grew worried after realising he had not seen him that day, Wales Online reports.
At an inquest into his death, held in Caernarfon, his mother Yvonne Simmons described him as a "very loving and happy child" who "lost confidence" as he got older.
She said that during his teenage years he suffered from bulimia, often making himself throw up after meals because he was unhappy with his weight.
