Paramedics say 'nothing could be done' to save boy who was hit by fallen tree

Paramedics have stated that 'nothing could be done' to try and save a nine-year-old boy who died after being struck by a fallen tree.

Emergency services were called out at roughly 1pm on Saturday to an area close to Hollington Road, Winnothdale, near Tean, after a tree fell on a boy and a man.

The scene was attended by two ambulances, Midlands Air Ambulances, a paramedic officer and a Community First Responder, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

Sadly, West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed nothing could be done to save the young boy's life. The other 72-year-old victim was rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospita l where he has been receiving treatment following the incident.
