Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon was left struggling to smile during her latest photoshoot as she suffered an accident just before getting in front of the camera.

The ITV soap actress wasn't working on the cobbles, where she plays Maria Windass, at the time. She was getting some new pictures taken and while why and what they will be for is currently under wraps, Samia revealed she carried on through the pain after suffering a fall and spraining her ankle.

Taking to her Instagram Story on Thursday (May 9), the 41-year-old shared a photo of her ankle that was covered in ice packs. "Fell over and sprained my ankle just before a photoshoot..." Samia explained in a written message alongside the snap. "Sorry!

Pinched your eye mask to hold the ice pack on @msjodieprenger." Samia then shared how she was well looked after by some of Corrie's team who are found working behind the scenes as she said: "Thanks for looking after me @rachel_thebeautyspot @gillywalshy @daniellebaguley." Luckily, the soap star was soon back at home and shared a follow-up post in which she could be seen outside in the garden of her phone with her foot bandaged and up being rested. "Resting [up arrow emoji]," Samia wrote alongside the post as she made the most of the dry spring weather.
