Controversial anti-abortion group visited several Lanarkshire schools

Several schools throughout Lanarkshire have been visited by a controversial anti abortion campaign group.The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) have spoken to pupils over a number of years on topics including "new life and abortion" and on "understanding development of new life".Quotes from teaching staff at St Andrew's and St Bride's school in East Kilbride are also used on brochures promoting the group, who have previously campaigned against same sex marriage and assisted suicide.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

In North Lanarkshire, Our Lady's High School in Cumbernauld, St Aidan's High School in Wishaw, St Ambrose High School in Coatbridge and Taylor High School in Motherwell all hosted the group.The SPUC website states that they are
