While the relaxing of rules came as somewhat of a surprise to zoo bosses, it's been a welcome move and they had already been making changes to the attraction in preparation for getting the green light.As well as the new self-scanning tickets that people will book in advance, new floor markings have been introduced to help people keep a distance, and viewing windows will have one metre standoff markings around them to prevent touching.Other physical measures include multiple hand-sanitisation stations, protective screens in key locations and additional outdoor picnic areas.Visitor numbers are also being restricted to the 128-acre site so that fewer people are allowed in.Jamie Christon, Chester.
