BBC received 500 complaints from furious viewers over the Black Lives Matter tribute in the New Year's Eve fireworks display.

The broadcaster's internal regulator revealed the most complained about shows between December 21 and January 3. During the New Year's Eve fireworks display, drones were used to recreate iconic images from throughout 2020.

As well as images of 2021 and Captain Sir Tom Moore, the drones also made the image of a raised fist associated with the Black Lives Matter protests this summer.

Five hundred people complained about the use of this imagery in the fireworks display. This wasn't the only BLM moment to attract complaints, as The Vicar of Dibley in Lockdown episode received 289 complaints.
