Barlinnie jail curry sauce rammy left inmate needing stitches for bloodied face

A prisoner who punched a fellow inmate after he spilled curry sauce on him was jailed today for 10 months. Craig Chalmers, 23, pounced on Kevin Flood, 28, in September 2018 at Glasgow’s Barlinnie prison.

Flood needed hospital treatment after receiving a cut upper lip. Chalmers pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to Flood’s injury.Prison officers heard “shouting and banging” in a stairwell and went to investigate.Flood was found with a “blooded face” and Chalmers was standing nearby.Chalmers told officers: “F*** sake, he spilled food on my trousers.”He was escorted back to his cell while Flood was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.Prosecutor Mark Allan told the court: "The doctor said the wound would need stitches.”Gerry
