Ayrshire lockdown preparations underway if local restrictions are ordered

South Ayrshire Council has confirmed it is working with the health board to ensure emergency procedures are ready.When asked if restrictions are expected, a council spokesman replied “there is no evidence to suggest Ayrshire is heading for a localised lockdown.” Cases of coronavirus in Ayrshire and Arran increased by 11 over the past 24 hours.

The total cumulative cases for the area since the pandemic began is 1,359 according to figures released today. Yesterday First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced there is a  cluster of 22 Covid-19 cases in Ayrshire.
