Armed thug demanded cash from terrified shop worker during robbery

An armed thug has stolen a four-figure sum in cash after threatening a female shop worker with a weapon in a terrifying robbery.

The man targeted the Scotmid store in McPhail Drive, Kilmarnock on Tuesday, June 21, at around 9.30pm. He entered the store and threatened the female member of staff with a weapon before demanding the money.

They then made off on foot in the direction of MacAndrew Gardens.Detectives are now appealing for information after describing the 42-year-old shop worker as "uninjured but badly shaken".The suspect is described as around 5ft 10ins in height and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark-coloured trapper-style hat, sunglasses, a navy blue jacket, grey ripped jeans and white trainers.
