Appeal launched by EK community centre to install life-saving defibrillator

A fundraising drive has been launched to install a life-saving defibrillator at an East Kilbride community centre. The equipment was recently fitted near the Post Office in the Village and now the Village Centre are looking to raise just over £1700 for their own.They want to purchase the defibrillator and outdoor cabinet for it, to be located on the outside of their building, near the kerbside, available to use by anyone who needs it.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Village Centre manager, Joanne Gray, told us : "Installing a defibrillator is something we have been really keen to do for a while, but no charity has the spare funds really, particularly at the minute. "We knew East Mains Community Council had helped get one installed at the Post Office so we spoke to them and got great advice and they put us in touch with the British Heart Foundation as we knew nothing about them really."The reason we think it's so important is that we have 2000 people
