Jamal Edwards has passed away, aged 31.The news was confirmed by representatives of Edwards’ media company to the BBC earlier this evening (February 20) following reports on social media that the entrepreneur, author, director, DJ and founder of the influential online urban music platform, SB.TV., died unexpectedly today.Edwards attended the BRIT Awards earlier this month and reports say he performed as a DJ at a gig in north London on Saturday night (February 19).No details have yet been released about the cause of death. The Transformers film franchise has found its next leading man: Anthony Ramos!

After five films from Michael Bay and one from Travis Knight, featuring leads like Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg, and Hailee Steinfeld, it’s clear that the “Transformers” universe could use some, uh, diversity. Well, we’ve already seen Paramount and Hasbro take the first steps with hiring filmmakers Steven Caple, Jr.

Following news that the studio was already in development on a separate Transformers movie from Charm City Kings Angel Manuel Soto, its other film looks to have found its lead. Sources tell Deadline, that Anthony Ramos is in final negotiations to star in a Transformers movie for Paramount and Hasbro that has Steven Caple Jr. is directing. Last week it was announced the studio was also developing an untitled pic from Soto that would be completely different from this pic and it has always been the plan to have multiple projects in pre-production at the same time. They are also developing an animated pic from Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley.
