Alex Theodossiadis, 25, passed away after he was admitted to Leeds General Infirmary before being moved to St James's Hospital in January last year, Manchester Evening News reports.
His mum Professor Sue Theodossiadis believes her son "had a chance at life" had he not taken the stumble, she told the inquest.
