St Mirren Academy boss Allan McManus revealed he wasn’t surprised in the slightest to see his young guns rise to the occasion against Celtic.
That’s because he believes they’re destined to shine at the top level in the years ahead. Four teenagers from the St Mirren youth set-up helped the Buddies hold the Hoops to a goalless draw before the winter break, stepping up to the plate in demanding circumstances after a coronavirus outbreak ruled out an entire starting XI of first-team players.
McManus revealed he was extremely proud of every single player and believes the talented foursome of Jay Henderson, Dylan Reid, Keiran Offord and Daniel McManus showed they were more than ready to compete at Premiership level.
