dailyrecord.co.ukGet the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A community radio station set up to keep Dumbarton and the Vale entertained during lockdown has been handed a top award for its work during the pandemic.River Radio, which started life as Leven Lockdown Radio, has been awarded the accolade by the Scotland Loves Local campaign, which has highlighted the incredible work of organisations to support their communities during the pandemic.Meanwhile, two Dumbarton chemists were praised for ensuring their services continued to run and customers felt safe since the outbreak.Set up by pals Alan Caldwell and Paul Lucas, the station aimed to bring local radio back to the area following the demise of Castle Rock FM.
