Steven William Johnson, the drummer for Grammy award-winning band Alabama Shakes, is reportedly being charged with child abuse. Steven was arrested on Wednesday (March 24) on charges of child abuse and violating a domestic violence protection order in Limestone County, Alabama, per E!

News. He reportedly pled guilty for violating a domestic violence order and received a suspended sentence of a year in jail with 24 months on probation in March 2020.

According to local news station WHNT, Limestone County Grand Jury charged him with “willful torture, willful abuse, and cruelly beating or otherwise willfully maltreating a child under the age of 18.” The musician was reportedly taken to Limestone County Jail with a bond set at $21,500.
