ABC News Names Reena Mehta As Senior VP Of Streaming And Digital Content

ABC News has tapped Reena Mehta to serve as senior vice president of streaming and digital content, while the network announced other staff changes as it boosts its online presence.Mehta was previously vice president of content strategy and planning at HBO Max.

In her new role, a newly created position, she’ll oversee the slate of unscripted documentaries and narrative non-fiction series and specials across platforms, as well as the teams at ABC News Live, ABC News’ digital portfolio and ABC Audio.

She will report to ABC News president Kim Godwin.“With her expertise in the digital and streaming content landscape, I’m confident the strategic vision for our digital brands, streaming efforts and audio products will soar to new heights,” Godwin wrote in a note to staff.Godwin said that Mehta will work with Stacia Deshishku, recently named executive editor and senior vice president, “to ensure all of the news division’s programming and content reaches multi-cultural audiences across linear, streaming, digital and audio platforms, driving audience engagement.”Godwin also wrote that Lulu Chiang is joining the network from Yahoo to serve as vice president of digital content, and Justin Dial has been promoted to vice president, leading streaming news content.
