After what has been a truly turbulent year for the arts industry, there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel. From May 17 theatres all across the country are permitted to welcome audiences back to their seats to witness actors step on to their beloved stages.

Among those preparing to reopen their doors is the Altrincham Garrick Playhouse, a community-led theatre that has stood the test of time for more than 100 years.

Founded in 1914, the theatre was originally created by local directors, actors and stage producers - and continues to be maintained by a majority of volunteers today.
