The widow of a famed Tayside painter has donated one of his works to the hospital where he was treated for a rare blood cancer prior to his death earlier this year.
Martin Livingstone Smith - known by the "brush name" of Mick Livingstone - was previously diagnosed with the rare form of the disease known as myelodysplastic syndrome.
It later developed into acute myeloid leukaemia, for which he received treatment at Dundee's Ninewells Hospital in ward 34. Mick hailed from Glasgow and studied Fine Art at Sheffield College of Art in the 1970s.
However, the 71-year-old had lived in Newport-on-Tay for 20 years and sadly died in hospital on May 25 2021. His widow Marianne has now donated one of his paintings to the ward as thanks to the staff,
