West Lothian Council grant six-month reprieve to decaying nursery

Sign up to the weekly West Lothian Courier newsletter for the latest West Lothian news and sport.Armadale’s decaying Victorian nursery building has been spared the wrecking ball.But local councillor Stuart Borrowman has won assurances of a six-month timeframe to find a  viable future for the listed  building which has become an eyesore  in the town.It was abandoned by the council in 1999, sold five years later and has been falling to pieces since.West Lothian Council’s Development Management Committee agreed to refuse  permission to allow Lucas  Land Purchases to demolish the nursery following  an independent survey.That survey largely confirmed  an initial one by the developers  but said the structure of the building was safe.
